

I made this delicious cupcake tonight. Well I made many of them. They are Alton Brown’s chiffon cupcake with a chocolate buttercream. Real buttercream takes a long ass time to make, btw, but is worth it. It’s not as sickly sweet or gritty as the quick buttercream. The cupcakes are light as air and slightly crisp on the top and not overly sweet. I think it’s a good counterpoint to the rich buttercream. Note my old ass Kitchen Aid still going strong after all these years. It’s older than I am. That’s some vintagey goodness right there. My heart will break when it finally gives out.
